Scarce 1975 Burger Chef and Jeff comic books.
Back in the day when there were Burger Chef fast food restaurants, Burger Chef and Jeff were the cartoon spokesmen featured in commercials and store premiums aimed at kids.
There were 2 comic books printed for giveaways in their popular Funburgers and Funmeals. They were tiny in size and printed with vegetable dye inks. The stories and layouts were done by Dick Chodkowski (yours truly) and the artwork by Marty Evans. Marty was a magazine cartoonist who did racy gags for Playboy and other men’s publications, a fact we didn’t bother sharing with General Foods (the corporate owner of the Franchise).
General Foods eventually abandoned the fast food business and went back to packaged goods leaving Burger Chef and Jeff in the dustbin of advertising history.
Here then, the first adventure. (A second will appear in my next blog: See Burger Chef and Jeff in the Pickle Mystery
